A Swimming Checklist

So you're heading for the beach, the pool, or your local water park and you're wondering, do I have everything I need for today? Well, you're in luck! I'm making a list (and checking it twice) of all the things I take for swimming. J

On the way:

  1. Everyone gets dressed in their swimming attire before we leave; Ian wears a swim diaper stuffed with an infant prefold to go so he doesn't leak on the way there.

  2. We put sunscreen on everybody before we ever get out of the car so it has a chance to settle in and do its job.

  3. Be sure to grab any passes you may need to get into the place you'll be going.

At the pool:

  1. Extra sunscreen

  2. Towels for all

  3. Pool toys

  4. Plenty of drinks/snacks to keep everyone hydrated. Believe it or not, you can still get dehydrated when you're swimming. It's hot out there!

  5. Goggles, if your kids go for that sort of thing (mine definitely do)

  6. Hair bands for pulling long hair out of little faces

  7. A camera if you want to capture these moments on film…er digitally…but keep it away from the water! Lol.

After the pool:

  1. A change of clothes for all that were swimming

  2. Spare diapers

  3. Wet bags, etc for all that wet clothing

  4. More drinks/snacks for hydrating those little ones!

I think I got it all! Take a look, did I miss something you deem super important for the pool? Tell us about it in a comment on this post. Happy Thursday everyone! J

A float or life jacket...that is a must for my two year old. We got him a puddle jumper. Looking forward to using it! We also have a float for our 8 month old too.
