This month, we’ll be doing something we haven’t done before. It’ll be a month all about newborns! I adore newborns, but when you’ve got a brand new one home whether it’s your first time or you’ve done it four times before, there are questions and uncertainties- especially when you’re too sleep deprived!
So this month, we’re going to talk about some of the big decisions we all face each time we’re pregnant- like whether or not to breastfeed or if you’re going to use cloth diapers or not. I’ll share some of the things that convinced me to do what I did and who knows, maybe some of you will change your minds on things too. In this series entitled, Why Should I?, we’ll discuss one major issue each week beginning tomorrow with breastfeeding.
I know that breastfeeding is a sensitive subject and not possible for everyone, so please don’t feel like I’m being negative about anyone else’s decisions this month. I’m only sharing MY experiences and what led me to make the decisions I made. I firmly believe that each mother needs to do what is best for her and her child; if you get nothing else from this post or from the rest of the month, please get that. You are enough. You are perfect for your child. No one else can do it better than you. You are the mother that was chosen for your particular child.
My point is, if you try something out that I’ve just raved about, don’t feel badly or like you’re a bad mom because it doesn’t work for you. If it doesn’t happen, or doesn’t work, that’s okay. We’ve all been made differently which is one of the things that makes this world so very amazing.
*Jumping off my soap box now, lol* This month, we’ll also be talking about some great recipes that freeze well for use after the baby comes. We all need some of those for the tougher evenings (evenings around here were bad in newborn days; all my babies chose then to be inconsolable!). We’ll also talk about different things related to the “Why Should I?” topic of the week, such as tie dying prefolds during cloth diapering week. Finally, we’ll end each week with a giveaway you won’t want to miss if you’re expecting!
Join us tomorrow as we kick off our newest series. See you then! Happy January!
