A Fun Back-to-School Snack and Activity in One!

This activity is a fun one for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and even some of the older kids! In fact, we tried it with all of my kids (except Ian, lol, he’s just WAY too young) and everybody liked it, my oldest being 10! Though honestly, we haven’t decorated yet…

What You’ll Need:

Your child’s favorite cookie dough
A rolling pin
A floured surface to roll on
Some alphabet cookie cutters
Frosting/Icing
Cookie decorations like sprinkles, etc.

What To Do:

1. Roll out your favorite cookie dough using your rolling pin and that floured surface.
2. Cut out all the letters in your child’s name.
3. Bake the cookies as directed.
4. Let cool.
5. Have your child spell their name and decorate the cookies anyway they want.
6. Eat some or all of the cookies (depending on how many cookies are in your child’s name of course! Lol).

You can also make an “art dough” that you can bake to keep the letters and reuse them. If you decide to go that way, you can skip the frosting and cookie decorations and do something fun like glitter, markers, paints, whatever! This is especially great for all of those tactile learners like my dear daughter, Lily. Have fun!
