An Applecheeks Review by Kristi!

1. Is this your first experience using a reusable swim diaper? If not, what type/brand did you use before?

No, it’s not my first experience. With Ian, our fourth child, I’ve also used a Babies R Us brand of swim diaper that was built into a pair of swim trunks.

2. What features makes the AppleCheeks swim diaper stand out from the others
out there and made you want to try it?

I love that it has snaps and is a two size system so I don’t have to keep buying a new one constantly. There’ s only two sizes to buy. Additionally, this swim diaper is thin and trim, but still does the job of holding in solids amazingly well. I also really like the color combinations available for this diaper.

3. How old is your darling son or daughter?

Ian is 13 months old and he only weighs 18 pounds. He’s in the size two and just fits.

4. Have you experienced the diaper in action? Aka….did your little one have a BM while in the water?

Yes, we’ve experienced this a couple of times and the diaper did its job beautifully. No poop floating in the pool!

5. Do you add anything absorbent to the diaper before your baby enters the water? Or, do you change them immediately before entering the pool/ocean?

I actually trifold an infant prefold in the center or even occasionally snappi it on him (yeah, I can still snappi an INFANT prefold on my son. He’s tiny!) to absorb any pee before we get to the pool. Plus it helps hold up his swim trunk since it gives him a false bum. Hehe.

6. Is there anything you would like to see changed on this swim diaper to make it even better?

Hmm, I’d love to see an absorbent layer you could snap in for before going in the pool because without it, you’ll get everything all wet if you change your son or daughter into their swim stuff too soon.

7. How much money do you think you will save this summer by not having to buy disposable diapers for swimming (swimmis)?

Considering those packs of swim diapers are small, expensive, and hard to find by mid-summer, I think we’ll be saving a lot not only in diapers but in time and energy wasted as well! We’ll at least re-coop the cost of the swim diaper.

8. Have you tried any other AppleCheeks products? If so, what product and how do you like it?

I haven’t tried any other Applecheeks products yet, but I’m dying to try their diapering system!

9. Would you recommend this diaper to a friend?

Yes, and I already have!

10. Is the price right on or too high?

It seems high at first glance, but if you take into account the amount of money you’d spend on just one small package of disposable swim diapers and then do the math on how many you’d need to make it through the summer (if you’re a big swimmer like our family tends to be), it really isn’t that big of a cost. As I said in my earlier answer, we’ll definitely save at least the same amount that the diaper costs just this summer. And this swim diaper can be reused next summer as well! And imagine the number of other children that could use it after my son is done with it!
*Just FYI, it was extremely sunny out when I took this picture of Ian in his swim diaper, hence the silly look on his face. :)
